Dear Abbas,
My heart is bursting with gratitude!

One of the most moving experiences I’ve had was watching a group of kids in Japan with Down Syndrome rock their Masala Bhangra performance—AND THEY OWNED THE STAGE!

What started as an idea 25 years ago has flourished beyond my wildest dreams. I’ve had the privilege of training incredible Masala Bhangra instructors worldwide, and seeing them use this program to create real change in their communities has been the most uplifting experience.
Masato from Japan has dedicated his life to raising awareness for Down Syndrome through an annual event that brings so much joy and empowerment to these children. Seeing the happiness on the parents’ faces was truly unforgettable. Masato shared his thoughts on the experience:
"This is personal... Music Box members danced Masala Bhangra in front of Sarina Jain, the founder of Masala Bhangra®︎. I was nervous when I choreographed it, but everyone embraced the dance with joy. Seeing Sarina’s reaction—her happiness, her praise—moved me deeply. And finally, taking a photo with the class members was the most special moment!"
I would love for you to watch their incredible performance, leave a comment, and share this moment of pure joy. Your support helps spread the power of movement, inclusion, and cultural connection.
FYI: World Down Syndrome Day is March 21! Let’s celebrate these amazing kids together!
Arigato,
Sarina
